Walls & Windows
I saw the bathroom container in WBB's beer-garden as a challenge. The dominating white metal box was asking to be converted from eye-sore, to blank page, to art. Interpreting stills from Lily Baldwin's film “It was at Westbeth”, I highlighted the dancer's movement by depicting the air itself being pushed by the body. Working with the corrugated metal of the bathroom to create a rhythm, I sliced the drawing into 50 parts so as to expose the concave spaces when pasted to the exterior wall. The work is an attempt at transforming a static and purely functional structure into a surface that one assumes was meant to host the art all along.
