2 Plane Drawings
This video captures my new approach to drawing. Pushing the medium of charcoal on paper, I am altering such works by mounting them on two planes which lay roughly at a 45 degree angle to one another. This allows me to combine two drawings into one work while still preserving the singular images.
One can not simply stand in front of these works, rather they must move back and forth in order to view the range of images and therefore understand the relationship between the two drawings.
I do not intend to present concrete convictions, rather I see the processes of making and viewing as a vehicle to move toward meaning. With these works I strive to both respect and engage the audience by creating a space of discovery in which they can enter into.
